Wallace Gap Farm

Family Farm Raising All Natural Black Angus Beef

Welcome to Wallace Gap Farm! We are a family-owned 700 acre farm at the foothills of the beautiful Shenandoah Mountains in Madison, Virginia. We raise all-natural, high-quality Black Angus cows.  We operate a "cow/calf" process where our heifers are bred, and the steers sold.  Currently, our herd is about 130 and they graze on 240 acres of rolling pastures. We consider the cattle family and call them “our girls.”

Wallace Gap Farm can be traced to an 5,000 acre land grant from England to the Wallace family circa 1735. We bought the property in 2003 and added additional fields to accommodate the herd growth. This land is fertile and rich with nutrients.

Wallace Gap Farm also has two lovely properties for rent on serene, green pastures. One is a short/long term 2 bedroom house and the other a 5 bedroom Manor House (sleeps 12 comfortably) for weddings, retreats, special events and get aways.

No Growth Hormones, No Antibiotics

Grass Fed, Non-GMO

Raising all-natural Black Angus cows is fundamental to the success of Wallace Gap Farm.  We do not use any supplemental growth hormones or any other hormones for our cattle. There are NO additives in our cow feed and we only give the minimally necessary vaccinations to the herd. You can trust that the beef from Wallace Gap Farm is all-natural, pasture-raised and humanely cared for to minimize stress.

Our Story

Caring for our cattle

A decade ago, we purchased 30 Black Angus heifers with the goal of producing the highest quality, all-natural beef using the very best cattle practices. Today, our herd is about 130. We operate a "cow-calf" production and in the past sold our steers at auction.  Our steers were always ranked the highest quality at auction and purchased by large meat operations that would take our steers to feedlots and fatten them up with growth hormones additives.

About 5 years ago, we started sharing some of our processed  meat with friends & family so they could enjoy exceptionally superior quality beef.  Each year, we would test the quality of the meat and make slight modifications. For example, during the grain finishing process, we upgraded our corn feed to ensure higher protein levels. We also increased the aging time to 3 weeks to enhance tenderness.

After 5 years of improvements, we are now offering exceptional quality, USDA inspected Black Angus beef to your family.
